The petdoctors supervisory board members Amigo, Chilla and Cleo, as well as Kaya, a husky, tested the product. Kaya repeatedly has problems with body odour. After the bath, her skin smells pleasantly fresh. Kaya does not find the scent unpleasant either. Her coat is fluffy and shiny. No unpleasant odours are noticeable in the following days either.

2. TICK PROTECTION „FELLWÄCHTER“ FOR DOGS AND CATS

The tick repellent ‘Fellwächter’ consists of coconut palm extract and natural essential oils. The smell is pleasant and not too intense. The product was tested by the cats Puppi, Miezi, Milli and Moritz. All cats are outdoor cats. The spray was sprayed onto the hands and then rubbed onto the cats' fur. The cats enjoyed the treatment. During the reduced tick pressure in autumn, the ‘Fellwächter’ tick repellent was completely sufficient. Only one cat had a small tick, which had not attached itself. The fur was not oily or sticky after application. As the ‘Fellwächter’ tick repellent is a purely natural product, there is no problem if children cuddle with the animal after application. 4. DENTAL CARE „MEERESSCHATZ“ FOR DOGS AND CATS

The ‘sea treasure’ with algae supports the daily dental care of dogs and cats. The feed supplement dissolves plaque and prevents bad breath. The powder is also well suited for puppies and animals with feed intolerances. As algae contain a high proportion of iodine, the product should only be used on animals with thyroid disease after consulting a vet.

‘Meeresschatz’ was tested by the petdoctors supervisory board members Chilla and Cleo, Yorkshire Chihuahua mixes. Due to their short snouts, both dogs repeatedly have problems with tartar and therefore have to visit the vet regularly for ultrasonic cleaning. Since using the product, plaque has been significantly reduced and bad breath has disappeared. It is not possible to say whether existing tartar has been dissolved, as both dogs had their tartar removed only recently. Writing about the health problems of a member of the petdoctors supervisory board is always a delicate matter. When it comes to digestive and intestinal problems, it is almost impossible. This makes it all the more important that Amigo has given us unrestricted authority to report on the matter in the interests of the health of our loyal readers. So: our esteemed supervisory board member Amigo has had digestive problems since he came to us at the age of about three from the animal shelter and a past that was anything but pleasant. Because he is also allergic to almost everything, most medications were off limits. Any additives that mask the bitter taste of the medicine are enough to cause shock. Nevertheless, with the help of our alternative veterinary surgeon, we have managed to get the situation under control. Pureed raw sauerkraut and moorland drinks for farm animals have been helpful. Only in terms of smell have we not been successful. In the former KGB of the Soviet Union, Amigo would have been highly regarded as an all-purpose olfactory weapon. Recently, however, we have also become optimistic in this regard. The little fairy tale bears the poetic name ‘Fairy Dust’ and has a short and snappy subtitle: ‘Intestinal Protection’. The herbal mixture is distributed by ‘Feele, 100% natural animal care’. The ingredients: shelled pumpkin seed flour, coconut flour, carrots, parsley leaves, oregano, wormwood, peeled ginger root, all finely ground. A lady of the world does not have bad breath.

My sister Cleo and I are purebred Yorkshire Terrier-Chihuahua mixes and we are responsible at petdoctors for making sure that everything runs smoothly. I am the chair of the supervisory board and Cleo is a member. It goes without saying that in this important role, we attach particular importance to a well-groomed appearance and impeccable manners. Fashionable haircuts, carefully manicured nails, teeth that enable a dazzling smile. Nature and the people who care for us have been kind to us.

This made the recent diagnosis that Cleo and I have bad breath all the worse. Bad breath! An absolute no-go for any lady of the world. And that's despite the fact that we go to the dentist regularly. No tartar, no cavities, nothing in our mouths that could be the cause, the dear doctor confirmed. We were faced with a mystery. Even our providers were at a loss. At some point, the ugly word ‘diet change’ was mentioned. Diet change! My sister immediately turned pale. Diet change means rethinking all those lovely little habits. The treats in between meals, the little buffet at board meetings, the sweet carrots in the evening. All hell broke loose.

Whenever things get tough, we ask our trusted vet for advice. Andrea Triebl not only writes most of the medical articles for petdoctors, but is also a dear friend who never lets us down. And sure enough, she had some advice… Cleo and I now get a teaspoon of ‘sea treasure’ every day. At first, we weren't sure if it would work because you can hardly taste anything.
